Minton Art Pottery Studio, London
The Minton Art Pottery Studio was established under the auspices of Minton China Works, at Kensington Gore in London in 1871 under the management of William Coleman who selected some of the more skilled painters from Stoke and students from the National Art Training Schools at Kensington, to create a practical china painting business. The studio remained open until 1875 when it was completely destroyed by an accidental fire. The studio was responsible for its own products as well as designs which went into full scale production at the company's works in Stoke-on-Trent.
