Treamlod Tilery, Treamlod, Pembrokeshire
Treamlod Tilery was founded in 1992 in a small workshop in the garden of Chris Cox's parents' home. Chris Cox experimented with making encaustic tiles seeking to recreate the multi-coloured Victorian tiles which he had discovered whilst at University. After much experimentation he was able to produce the tiles commercially and in 1997 moved to the Jackfield Tile Museum, Shropshire where he continued to produce the tiles under the trade name of The Encaustic Tile Co. In 2001 he merged with Craven Dunnill, Jackfield Ltd and now heads up the company's Floor Tile Division.
